My cat
Possible trigger:
I've just come back from dropping her off at the 24/hour emergency vet. They've sedated her and given her pain killers and will do X-rays later on. Prayers or positive vibes for my Bella please

I got a phone call at 1:30am. Looks like her back leg is irreparable. Bare minimum amputation. She has fractures in both sides of her pelvis. They've recommended euthanasia. I can't. Going to transfer her to my vet this morning.

The bad news after a consult with 2 vets this morning is I'm looking at around $10,000 for the surgery
So I just don't know .... |

We’ve made the decision to save Bella, including putting pins in her leg rather than amputate. My partner is going to help pay for part of it. My vet is going in to do the surgery. He used to work at the animal hospital. He’s not yet a fully qualified orthopaedic surgeon he’s still in training so he’ll do it under the guidance of their surgeon which heavily reduces the fees. He’s going to take Bella there and back for us tomorrow and her aftercare will be at his practice rather than the hospital because the hospital charge $600 per day for observation
