I never thought of this before reading this article. I suspect most of us know to leave working service dogs alone when they are working. But what you you do if an unaccompanied service dog approached you? The short answer is to follow the dog because s/he might have been trained to seek help for their human.

liz, thank you very much for posting this. How many people would ever think of this possibility? I know I wouldn't; I would assume the dog was lost. This information could save someone's life.
