Thought I'd start a thread for pooch enthusiasts like myself since I didn't see one I could peruse for my doggo fix. Please post anything dog here. Thanks. I miss my rottie, Roxy. She passed away at 12 years old on December 8th 2017 and I miss her sooooo much. Talking to other folks that are crazy about dogs is therapeutic for me.

I don't know how to share photos BUT if you search "Dodger the therapy husky" on Facebook you can find my dogs page. He passed away a year ago this oct at age 15

He was my best friend. My world. I still have a hard time without him.

I do have another dog, he is also 15 now. He's my anxiety support dog. Goes to all my therapy sessions with me

Dogs are great therapy. I love walking them or petting them or just sitting in quiet with them.

My dog is a cairn terrier mix from the humane society and he makes my day better whenever he greets me as I return home from work. 🐕

I'm so sorry for your loss. There's just something about dogs that makes losing them especially sorrowful and difficult to accept. Maybe it's because their love is so pure and they don't hold back in giving it to us. They spend their short lives wanting to please us above all. It seems so unfair that they should have to experience death and sickness.

What's your other pup's name? And, wow...two 15 year old dogs? That's exceptional. Do you have any tips for longevity? Do you do anything special?

I'm going to go over to check out Dodger's FB page. Give your furbaby some love for me. Thanks for sharing.

Awww...that's awesome that you got him from the Humane Society! What's his name?
And I know what you mean, coming home to a dog is one of the greatest joys in life in my opinion.

I just read about Dodger and Patch being nominated for a Hero Dog award! That's so cool. Your story was moving and inspiring. Gives me a glimmer of hope for my agoraphobic, suicidal, hoarding, depressed (major recurrent) sister that I (also dealing with anxiety, depression, hoarding and ADD) have been trying to care for for about 20 years now. Though she has dogs and always has dogs... Maybe a husky would do it lol.

Hi! My other dog is Patch. He also has a FB page (Patch the therapy dog)

I had them both for many years. Patch had a hard time with the loss too. I devoted my life to them. Like some parents give everything they can for their kids, I did for them.

I made sure to walk them every single day, no matter how cold it was. I was always making sure they were healthy and bringing them to the vet. Did a lot of home cooked foods/treats as well as high quality kibble.

I've truly no idea, I am just really blessed. Typically huskies live around 10-12 years. Granted these are both mixes but still.

Patch is 15 right now, he will be 16 in May.

Thanks for liking my page for Dodger!

Hello, I definitely understand the loss felt deep in your heart.
I miss my baby Widget and little guy Jaxton to no end. We were ripped apart almost a year ago and I cant measure the sadness I feel everyday, it seems like mornings are not the same without them at the side of my bed messing with my face with their noses to wake me up.
and then there is the worry if they are being loved and cared for like they deserve....
i sure hope and pray they are
I love you Widget and Jaxton you will live in my heart and mind forever

My husky is sleeping in his chair with a toy under his head. So cute. At least it's some happiness after my terrible day
