I share popcorn with my lab, Raven, but otherwise all she gets is dog food and any cat food she can sneak. She looks so wishful when I eat in front of her. Is it okay to give her some people food sometimes? I don't want to her to start begging, but I'm thinking a hamburger for her own or such. What do you think? Thanks.

If you don't want her begging, don't give her an opportunity to do so. Yes, dogs can eat most people food, do a google search of foods that are toxic for dogs. You may also want to look into the raw food diet. It's much more beneficial to dogs than simple dog food.

Like Lark said, if you don't want her to beg don't reward the behavior by giving her anything when she begs.
As for feeding dogs people food. There are some foods that people eat that are toxic for dogs. There are some folks who say you should never give dogs people food. Personally, I share some of what I eat with BG. I don't like pizza crust and he does so I share, that sort of thing. |
