my cat was put down today ...my other cat keeps looking for him

I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand the urge, but remember your other cat needs you rn and is looking up to you for guidance.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had to put down a cat last January, and it was sad. But I did have another cat at home to keep me company (as you do). That helped me heal.

Please, please, please don't self-harm. You probably just want to stop the pain. Totally understandable. But bear in mind, it is not your fault that our beloved creatures live and die. It's part of some much greater design.  (((HUGS))))

I've had to do that a couple of times. It's really hard. I still have my last cat's ashes in my living room after 9 years. I have another cat but I still miss my old cat.

Astral, I am posting these two graphics for you hoping they bring you comfort. I have had to do the same over the years and these helped me. They have dogs in them, but the concept is the same for kitties or any pets. xoxoxoxox

Astral, I'm so sorry about your cat. As others have said, the pain will ease even if it is difficult to believe that right now.
I have a history of SI too. It's not unusual for the old urges to come up when we are in a lot of emotional pain. Please hang in there. Please be kind to yourself. You deserve it.

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that you gave your cat a nice and comfortable life. A lot of animals don't have that kind of opportunity.
There's also the fact that your pet died without pain or anxiety, a good death is also an advantage that many don't have. In the meantime perhaps you can distract your other cat for a while, with toys or extra attention, which might help you both. |
