I got my bunny dusty after his former caretaker accidentally ruptured his eyeball. I took him to the vet and he had the eye removed and I took him home to help him recover. i ended up keeping him because caring for him bonded me so deeply to him. I have had other bunnies and I loved them all but there was something about dusty that moved my heart so. he died in 2014 at 14 but I still dream about him sometimes. mama misses you so much.

i had bunnies for 26 yrs. they are so misunderstood and their care can be really difficult. most vets are not taught much about rabbits in vet school.

Thank you for sharing your lingering grief over the loss of your bunny. We just lost our beloved 16 year old Schnoodle in July. And I'm quite certain we will still be grieving his loss 6 years from now as you are still grieving the loss of your bunny. Here's a link to my favorite grief & loss related article from PC's archives. May it be of benefit:

What My Dog Taught Me about Grief and Loss

thank you for your post and link skeezyks. I know you are still grieving over your beloved joey and I am so sorry for your loss. it is so very hard to lose our beloved furchildren.

a month after dusty died, my other bunnies, who were all elderly, began one by one to get disabled and I was so busy caring for them I never had a chance to full grieve over dusty so I guess I am still processing my grief.

anyways, I hope your broken heart will gradually heal. pls take care.
