i've gained some weight over the last two months, just because i can't control myself
it's not even as if i'm hungry half the time i binge, i just do, it's an habit
and it makes me so sad to think that i can't have control over this, and that i might never have
how do you cope with food addiction? i can't even prep my meals for the week because i end up eating it all in one sitting

Hello mc: I'm sorry I probably don't have a lot to offer with regard to your concerns. In my case, I find that the best way to avoid eating stuff I don't want to be eating is to simply not have it in the house. I don't have a weight problem. But I am pretty-much addicted to mixed nuts. If there are any in the house, I'll eat them... period. So the only way to not be eating them is to not have them around.

I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

OMG mixed nuts is one of my big triggers. I eat a can at a time and they it sets off a binge. I try to avoid them in the grocery store but they pull me (of course its my mind) to the nut isle and I end up buying a can and then knowing they trigger I will buy a cake, jar of peanut butter (another trigger),muffins, chocolate etc etc.
I will take a can to work telling myself I'll just have a few each day but my job is so boring and I sit at a desk all day, I just eat there whole can. I live alone now since my last child (I have 56) went off to college so I'm there only one to go to the store.
