I have the band in 2011 and did AWESOME had some issues with a fall that having to ended up having it removed and the surgeon did a sleeve. Once again did but ended up with some health issues and they beat me down...and my growing up tape running in my head kicked into high gear....so what I did was eat small portions because I couldn't eat a lot but I was eating more often and also eating the wrong things....my triggers are a few things and I have been working on them with my therapist and wow they go deep. I do at times eat till I feel almost sick and my stomach feels over full. I think between support and threads here and my therapist I'll find a place I fit into....I do have a lot of history of things where I felt I never ever fit in while growing up and it's still going on in some form or another that I'm working on....also one thing my therapist brought up to me is I never feel like I'm heard.

Hi giggyone

I had the sleeve as well about 14 months ago and regain can definitely be an issue. The only thing I can suggest is to get back to basics. I have not done well with my surgery because I never gave up horrible food. It has restricted my appetite and I’m happy with what I’ve lost but I could have lost more if I’d stuck to the plan. I struggle with emotional eating and poor choices so I get it.

Sorry I don’t have any deep insights but I wanted you to know you’re not alone as far as the sleeve goes.

I had the roux-n-y gastric bypass. I wanted to do something almost permanent. I dont remember if they had the band or sleeve available when I had it done (2009). I am very fortunate that I kept all but 15lbs off. But it was not easy. I just got very rigorous and rigid with the eating plan and I always take my vitamins. BUT- I also am an alcoholic and the bad drinking phase didnt start until after my surgery. I am sober 6 years now. I dont care about the number on the scale anymore because I am more than a number.
