Hi, I am new to this site, by reading the titles already posted I am not even sure this is the right place for me. I have a husband who is manic depressive and has finally just recently been diagnosed with bipolar, unfortunately I knew all along this was the case. We have been together for 6 years, have 3 beautiful children (5,3, and 4 month old) and it has all been a struggle. I love this man more than anyone could imagine, and we have been separated a couple times since we have been together due to his manic states and infidelity. I am just trying to find a support group in which I can learn more and whether or not staying or going is best.

Mania is not an excuse for infidelity. I suggest you guys see a couples therapist as soon as possible. BP and marriage can work but a strong support system is needed. I'm talking 3 therapists (1 for each of you and one as a couple) and a psychiatrist that all work together. You have to sit down and draw out what behavior needs to be address by the Dr. and therapist immediately but before a crises. These are the things you get to call and tattle on him. They can't tell you things about him but you can tell them stuff about him. You need to be on the same page about medication.
It's worth it but it can be difficult. __________________ Dx: Me- SzA Husband- Bipolar 1 Daughter- mood disorder+ Comfortable broken and happy "So I don't know why I'm tongue tied At the wrong time when I need this."- P!nk My blog |
