I finally feel at peace...

My husband's dillusional thinking has been so incredibly toxic to our lives. There is so much going on with him that I can't pin point exactly what it is. However, I can pinpoint a few things. He is mentally ill, he self medicates, he blames everyone and everything else for his problems, he refuses to get up and if he starts to he completly walks all over me. He makes me feel that the mess he is in is all my fault, if only I had... (fill in the blank and I'm sure he's said it). I refuse to live like this any longer.

Tomorrow I am filing for divorce. I never ever wanted this for my family, but it is the lesser of the two evils. I'm scared of how he'll react. I'm scared he will harass me. I'm scared that he will do something bad. He isn't violent, but he has threatened me when I've told him I wanted a divorce before.

Any advice? Anyone know how I can get him out of my house? Prayers are greatly appreciated!!

Congratulations on this step. It must not have been easy; it takes great courage/confidence to take control of your life in a situation like this.

What you'll do next (to improve your chances of a successful, drama-free transition) depends largely on whether you

1. rent or own,
2. what state you're in, and
3. what the divorce laws are like in your state, with regards to housing and residence.
