My girlfriend and I have been together for over a decade.

Early in the relationship there were incidents, comments that didn't fit in with the moment.

I began to realize she saw and heard things.
She explained she had done this since childhood as long as she could remember, but could tell one world from the other.

Our relationship consisted of really not going anywhere. The other world continually questioned my intentions.

A couple years ago we discussed the world's. This discussion I found gravely discouraging. I was being turned in to a deceiver and her enemy on every front.

Now I'm worried about her well being. What could happen to her. I fell in love with her.

Ive been looking up symptoms. Trying to find similar accounts.

I find some, some encouraging some not. But there are significant differences. She describing hers as a life long condition. I've not found any other story of a life long condition.

I don't note any decrease cognitive ability. I believe she would rate higher then average cognitive abilities.

She's an amazing person. She's managed to function and survive.

However she's in trouble. We both are. This has devastated us emotionally and financially.

She refuses to talk with a Dr. She did once, didn't go well.

She hears, sees, feels and smells. This is uncommon from what I've read.

She has total emersion, all senses. Delusions of grandeur. Some not even possible. I don't know about paranoia. She eventually suspects everything. But she doesn't hide or seem the least bit scared.

Our feelings so far have been strong enough, but we're not going to make it much longer. A distance has formed between us.

I need to find out what she has, how to reach her, what we are facing.

Did she suffered from childhood trauma? It could be a disdociative disorder or a psychotic one.

Maybe seeing a therapist or psychologist?

I have other worlds too, it is annoying when they interfer in the one I am physically present. They try to prevent me to disclose information when they sense it is not good to do it and more stuff.

Therapist and psychologist are less dangeruous than doctors from my experience, they rarely medicate you or lock you up.

Good luck

As far as I know meds are the only way to remove hallucinations and since they aren’t OTC that means doctor. There are ways to learn to tolerate instead of remove...sounds like she’s doing a fair job of this already but there are hearing voices groups. As far as the all senses thing a lot of docs simply assume things so they don’t even ask...a lot of people get multiple senses...for me I get all five senses separately but some people get the total immersion thing.

Thank you for the replies. Glancing looks like at least she'll see others making it.

Thanks for the replies. This was a bad week. I'm pretty much her enemy, although she says I'm not. She look for any holes my words and actions. God speaks to her now. Tells her not to go to doctors. Everyone probably knows those passages. But she's having conversations with God, he's directly telling her these things.

Rough upbringing.

I beilieve her hallucinations, delusions are her conscience. One she has is of me. I'm buried in a stream with my head barely above water. Another is her family shouting where is your God.

I thought this was a good sign. Conscience is on tune. She's just blocking it out completely so it's all coming out in her other reality.

But now I'm the enemy. Verified by God's own words.

Sounds like she’s actually more delusional now if she’s totally believing the hallucinations...it’s one thing to hear them another to believe them. There’s s book called I’m not sick I don’t need help I typically recommend to partners when their loved one won’t go to the doc because you almost certainly need meds for this.

Hi Slodiggity. I am sorry you are facing the challenge of dealing with a person that seems to be slipping into psychosis. In my experience with a friend, I could not talk them out of it. It required medication and other professionally described treatments.

Will she see a psychiatrist and follow their guidance?

Knowing when they become a threat to themselves or others is important to tune into. If you are not feeling safe, please take precaution (lock your sleeping room, hide the knives or weapons, etc) If things get out of hand, many police departments in US are trained to deal with mentally ill patients.

If they will not get professional help, you could get some yourself and they maybe could guide you how to deal with this very difficult situation.
