Now that spring has came my wife has wanted to work in the yard and get the flower beds ready. I work all day so I can really only help on the weekends, which I did this past weekend. We just didn't have time to finish them.
She is a stay at home mom and we have a toddler. So it's hard to get things finished by herself. I told her that I would help her this weekend. But instead all week she has been frantically working on the flower beds. Like nothing else in the world matters. And I have to hear over and over again how much work she is doing and how tired she is. She acts like she has to do everything by herself. But that is not true at all. I do not mind helping, actually I enjoy it. If she could just wait until this weekend I could have helped. She is a different person when she gets like this. I can't even get her to calm down for a moment and talk to her. It's like these flower beds have taken her over. It's like this if she has any task in front of her. And I can not talk to her about it at all. I get so frustrated. |

Oh, that sounds so distressing and frustrating. You must have the patience of Job to handle such stress. I think you probably handle this better than I ever could since I seem to have a low threshold for tolerance. Hopefully your wife will be her better self soon. My heart goes out to you!

This sounds like a really frustrating situation, but on the bright side, if you can manage to see it, at least she is doing something constructive and not destructive, as so many people who are manic do. Maybe her therapist might have a good suggestion or two for your situation.

Is it any large task or certain tasks?

That's unfortunate. In manic states I have been known to jump from one task to another, not being able to stop.
Is she in touch with her doctor and taking meds? |
