She is real manic and will not stay at home and wants to try to find someone with this flu. My fear is she's finds someone with flu and she brings it home to me. which I have many major medical conditions. This lady has Diabetes and stage three kidney problems.

Thanks for the help.

Remember the airline advice to put the oxygen mask on yourself before trying to help others. Even if she has a "death wish", I find it terrible that she is not thinking about how her actions could effect you. Is caring for her a job or do you live with her because she is family, etc? Since she has so much disregard for your health, can you distance yourself from her somehow? While I know that we do not yet know how extensive the virus is in each local community yet, perhaps it has not spread to Tennesse yet. They are finally doing more testing now so maybe watch the news but not too much news--just enough to be informed. While we have to take proper measures, it is also important not to fixate on the virus too much. Keeping a positive attitude is good for our immunity!! So is standing up for ourselves--she needs to keep her distance from you if she is exposing herself to germs that could effect you. Also, eat nutritionally and get some sunshine--I think we can boost our immunity by thinking and living in a healthy way.

Wash your hands often and try not to touch your face after touching other people or objects. I remember training people to use the N95 mask during H1N1 outbreak---but also read a study that found this mask was not significantly more effective than the paper disposable masks.
Do talk with her health care provider, they may be helpful. Is she taking meds? Are they effective? Review "universal precautions" on line, this is what health workers use to prevent transmission of an illness. (((((((((((((hug))))))))))))

It sounds like you could use a respite. Is there anyone who could take over for a few days? (I cared for my mother who had dementia for over 6yrs, it's a long road & you don't realize how stressful it is until it is over...)

Could she be in a mixed episode? It's does sound like you need some outside support. What does her family say?

She been disowned by her children because of Bi-polar. Her sister will now visit her but will not have anything to do with her. Because of the condition. I got her a car and she now can leave when she gets upset. Car has full car insurance so if she totals it is covered.

Just wanted to share two things:
1. The mask is less effective when worn over facial hair, even stubble.
2. I've heard the same comment (about wanting to contract CoVID-19) from my loved one.
