well when I use to live at home my mom use to buy herbal teas, laxitives, diet pills and left food on her plate and not finish her dinner. A few years later when I 1st met her she was wasted away to a size 00. we use to go to the gym together and I got bulimic after that. How do I help her? I promised Id bring her to a spa day and lunch out. Just so she can eat more.what do I do?

I'm sorry I don't really know what to tell you about this. Based on what you wrote, what occurs to me is that your mom needs professional help. Your mom's eating-related problems sound as though they have been longstanding. My personal, non-professional opinion would be there may be little you can do to have a positive impact on this situation other than to make yourself available to talk if-&-when your mom wants to & to be supportive as it sounds like you are doing.
Beyond that, encouraging your mom to seek professional care, such as an eating disorders program, would seem to me to be the best option if your mom is cognizant of her condition & willing to seek help. If she's in denial, or simply chooses not to seek treatment, then there may simply be little you can do. In that case, the only other thing that occurs to me is if there is someone around your mom's age (or some other person she respects, such as a clergy person) who could talk to her, perhaps that might help? It's possible that you, being her daughter, may be able to have less influence on her than someone more her own age. (You know how we older folks dislike taking advice from the young'uns...) Anyway... those are my thoughts with regard to your post. My best wishes to you & your mom. __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go."
