Default Borderline Personality Disorder

It sucks... one moment I am calm and ready, the other I am broken and sad and anxious. I am not officially diagnosed but I do think it sucks. I feel nothing, except anxiety.

Confused Re: Borderline Personality Disorder

I've sometimes thought it was possible, when I was young, I might have been diagnosable as having BPD. That would not be the case anymore I would presume. But I've been told BPD tends to burn itself out as a person ages. I was reading a couple of articles in PC's archives, though, on the topic of Bipolar 2. And I thought... boy... that sure sounds a lot like me... even today. So I don't know. I do also struggle with a lot of anxiety though. I think it has been behind a lot of the sorry destructive things I've done in my life.

Your thoughtful and well-written responses do brighten up people's day, Skeezyks.

There's no need to be sorry, we are human and we make mistakes. I've too done so many mistakes in my life, even though I am just a teenager.

For me it is imperative I know my trigger areas. People with bpd can have dozens of trigger points depending on the type of trama experiences.

I'm in my 50s so it might be a little easier for me as I'm not so impulsive as to allow others to upset me anymore. I'm seasoned like fine wine and v wise with an old soul. The older I get the easier it is to stay away from people or circumstances that will upset me or make me rage.

I have accepted there are situations I have 0 control over, I can be calm and turn to rage quickly depending on the trigger. It doesn't take much to calm me down. A huge tight hug from someone who is calm and soothing is enough to turn my mood and state of mind around. I have go to ppl who know and have accepted my personality disorder, they know how to handle me, especially my hubby.

Having a disorder doesn't mean you are a bad person, it only means you need to surrender to people who will love you unconditionally and will never hurt you for acting out. If you surrender to people who dont understand you, they will grow to hate you fro lack of understanding.
