Wondering if anyone can figure this out. I have a mother that has what I call an impossible personality. To boot, this is also a very manipulative personality. Extremely rigid, self absorbed, takes what is not meant to be personal on a personal, afraid to show emotion, love, caring, unless it suits her need. She is a master at getting those around her to cowtow to her just to get her off their backs. I don't know what this is, but now that she's eighty five and starting to show dementia these problems have worsened and she needs more affirmation, cowtowing and needing more than any of us can or are willing to give her. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I know she has an untreated PTSD from living thru WWII, but it goes way beyond that. This has been her MO for a lifetime it is nothing that just popped up. I look forward to any advice/ insight. I would also like to mention that I've been sober over eight years and that this is seriously affecting my sobriety
