Hi jrae. I am sorry you have had a major shock to the system. I think seeing a professional that is skilled at dealing with trauma is an important step in the process. Therapists can talk us through situations and psychiatrists can prescribe treatments that keep us stable.
Getting away from toxic environments could help, although that is not always easy or financially possible. Having a support group can help develop trust in people and yourself. thanks for the links. I'm not good with people IRL, major trust issues. that, and no support system. this was a medical-related thing, so I'm trying to figure things out. the last time I had a major 'shock to the system', I had so much physical pain that it drowned out everything else (like the mental, emotional...) - except for being aware that my seatbelt saved my life!

Seatbelts are amazing. It must have been a relief to know you survived. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |
