Is there any coping skills for managing PTSD? I been looking for resources and I can't find any resources to help me cope.

Also, I think you need to be more specific in what you want to cope with. PTSD encompasses a wide variety if symptoms. You might post what you are feeling to get some feedback as to what you are struggling with. Then you can work on coping with it. For example, if you feel like you are always having to watch out for something bad to happen, you may need coping skills for hyper-vigilence. If you are having trouble breathing, you may need coping skills for panic attacks. Hope this helps. |

I am always watching for danger. I have trouble breathing, sometime I begin hyperventilating. I have physical symptoms such as having shaky hands, fast heartbeat, chest pain, nauseous, sometime I throw up, hot flashes and migraine. I will burst in tears. I just want to run. When the flash back start. I will have nightmare. |

People are so quick to write off taking deep breaths. It's not so that you calm down it's so you flood your body and brain with oxygen and your blood stream which naturally helps slow your heart rate.

That reminds me, there is a good phone app called "Virtual Hope Box". It has all kinds of helpful things to calm us down. There is a safe place narrator and a deep breathing monitor, etc.
