Hi,
I’m getting physical therapy done because of an injury and now I have sciatica and often I’m not truthful with PT about where it hurts because I don’t want to get triggered and fear of what would come next. How do you communicate trauma issues to PTs? |

Honestly... I guess I'm not sure what to say about this. I have a ruptured disc in my low back & I have sciatica. I've also had physical therapy for it. (Actually the best thing I did for my low-back pain & sciatica was to walk, walk, walk... And neither my low-back pain nor my sciatica are anywhere near as bad as they once were.)
But, anyway, your physical therapist can only be of as much help as possible if you tell them what you're experiencing. And, at least personally, I don't know how you go about doing that other than to tell them... (along with, perhaps, how difficult it is for you to talk about it.) At least that's the way it seems to me. Perhaps other PC members will have other suggestions they can offer. Best wishes... |
