soo pdoc gave me klonopin yesterday n i took one yesterday at 5:30pm...knowcked me out for whole nite at 6:15pm and then even today and this morning i feels so messed up!
Like DRUNK! dizzy, can barely walk around!! i mean i feel relaxed n all but i would like to be able to walk around and function somewhat Has anyone taken this and felt this messed up? and for this long??! |

Wow. What dose are you on???? I started it about a month ago and it helps but doesn't knock me out or leave me with a "hang over". But then, my body overreacts to some meds and under reacts to others.

Hmmm...I'm guessing it must be 1mg or 2mg tabs? I'm prescribed .5mg per day but I rarely take more than 3/4 of a tab. Taking an entire tab never made me drowsy much less inebriated but everybody is different. I used to be a musician and I'd take 1/2 or 1/4 of a .5mg tab before a gig and have a drink or two (it was free okay) during the gig. I never got more than a tiny buzz. Apparently you are getting something stronger than I am.
I think you might want to tell your doctor about this asap and see about getting a lower dosage or taking half if the med is in scored tablet form. Anxiety or seizures are bad but getting bombed on meds is not a good remedy

I have been on Klonopin previously and it totally chilled me out and made me very groggy...Like I didn't have a care in the world....................................

 So it looks like 2mg tablets?I dont know! omg i was excited cause i thought these would calm me down, but i feel like im wasted! Im dizzy, my eyesight is blurry, i just wanna lay on the couch...I have stuff to do today!! Next time maybe ill try 1/2 a 1/2 pill?? I thought i was taking a lil bit cause it says take 2-3 times a day!! Ya right! I thought it'd wear off by now...i mean its been what? 19 hours?! Thats crazy!!! Im moving like super S---l----o----w..... |

None of us are doctors here so we really cannot give instructions on medications. I checked online and 2mg seems to be the highest strength tablet. On one site I read, there were general guidelines on how clonazopam is prescribed and taken. I got the impression that the medication isn't normally prescribed as your doctor has done. Basically you start w/ a low dosage and build up to a maintenance dosage based on body weight...according to that site. When I was initially prescribed I was having severe anxiety. I'm talking climb the walls, sleepless for days anxiety. I was given the prescription of .5mg, once per day. That worked pretty well for me. Not anxiety free but much better. An initial dosage of 2-6mg per day sounds extreme but...I am not a doctor. You need to talk to your doctor and tell him how the medication affects you and maybe see if he can adjust the dosage. Maybe Jerry the pharma guy can give you some general information on a non-professional basis that doesn't require him to violate any professional guidelines. In the meantime you obviously shouldn't drive, operate heavy machinery, sign legal contracts, climb trees, play near busy streets etc etc Take care. Quote:

I take up to 6 mg and it just calms me down.

I hate the stuff. It gets me to sleep, but it makes me really angry and paranoid the next day. As well as groggy, woozy. Basically it makes me feel like a mean drunk.

Thx guys
 i see him mon again so i was kinda hoping to make till then since i saw him last mon n already had emergency visit! Kinda embarrasing! I just want this stuff to wear off already. Still dizzy n drunkeness but not quite as bad but still significant. I probably wont take anymore of this. Id rather tough it out! Being "drunk" for about 24hrs-NOT my idea of a good time. Im veerryy tired so ima try n take a nap. Hopefully ill wake up at least 1/2 way functional I really love getting your guys' replies! Thank u

k....im going to call him first thing in the morning....
Im feeling better....i think the only thing remaining is dizziness...like ill turn my head left and it takes my eyes a few moments to catch up...very strange! Ill def call in tomm tho.. thx guys )

That is a high dose. I took it for 5yrs and took .25mgs or .5mgs. I'm just saying...

I took it after a trauma I went through I it did absolutely NOTHING for me.....ended up on a high dose of seroquel in order to sleep without nigtmares.....but then those kind of meds never had an effect of me...neither did valium even when I took more than prescribed......so never bothered to take meds that didn't help.
Different people have very different reactions to different meds....think that's why there are so many different ones out there. __________________  Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. True. I think I've said this before but I got a scrip for Xanax once. Might as well have got a bag of m&m's. I can't believe it's used for recreational purposes

hey guys! Sorry took me so long...i went camping at yosemite for the weekend with my dad and my daughters
So I have my appt with my pdoc tomm. I still feel a lil dizzy but it cant possibly be the kl klonopin anymore....maybe its my other meds, idk but im def going to have a lil chat with him.... I wanted to take it once on the trip but i was too scared to that stuff is crazy!!! We'll see what he says since im feeling not exactly like i was on the klonopin, but still that drunkenss feeling and like my air is a big balloon..... I will update you guys tomm! Hope everyone had a good weekend )

Well just got back from my pdoc appt. He said the reason,he thinks, that im having strange vision changes along with dizzys/lightheaded is due to my anxiety. I told bout the klonopin basically knockin me on my *** and he agreed he gave me a high dose because i came in there in a panic. He said try to take 1/2 or 1/2 of 1/2 whih i will probably do.
Im just thinking tho....obviously ive had anxiety for a while, so now this vision/lightheadness when i start lithium n emsam? Hmmm i guezz we shall see... He also increased my emsam patch from 6mg to 12mg. I hate experementing with all these medications....its extremley frustrating!!! |
