I've been on Namenda for 2 years. I've become very iron deficient anemia. I had to have ten iron infusions. I was wondering if anyone else was on this drug and had the same problem.

I have never heard of Namenda but now I can guarantee that I won't be taking it. I hope that you can get away from it (whatever it is) soon.

I googled namenda because I take it under the name memantine and during my recent hospital stay they gave me namenda.

My pdoc started me on it off label for bipolar and for the first time I have experienced stability for a couple or maybe 3 years. I don't remember exactly when I started it.

I destabilized and now depakote has been added to my mix. I am still taking the memantine. I am very thankful to be on it.

My blood tests haven't shown any iron deficiencies yet.
