I’m thinking to finally try meds for my depression.
I haven’t spoken with my de yet and I’d like to get some feedback and experiences with various meds you guys have take/have taken.
One of my symptoms of depression is a changing but always present loss of motivation, even for the things I enjoy doing most days.
I would like to find an anti depressant that does not make me tired and further unmotivated, any suggestions?

Tired and unmotivated? *sigh* I wish you luck.

Actually, it's the worst during the first month or two (with all the AD's I've been on). Then the side-effects seem to subside, at least to a tolerable degree.

Everyone seems to react differently to meds which is why some of us have to try a few different ones or combos before we see positive results. Lexapro (Escitalopram) worked for me for a number of years but then seemed to stop working even with increased dosage. Trintellix (Vortioxetine) seemed to work well for me but the cost...even with insurance...was really high so I didn't continue that for long. I am most recently trying Wellbutrin (Bupropion) but it has only been a few short weeks so too early to tell. The Wellbutrin is known for giving a bit of an energy boost along with its antidepressant effects. I wish you luck trying to find the right one for you.

Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Lexapro and Lamictal have helped my bipolar depression. DBT therapy helps, too.
