I’m thinking of taking all my geodon at night. I have some 40’s. So should I take those for a few nights before switching to the 60’s? I used to be on 160 milligrams at night. So 140 isn’t a big deal.
I have messed with my meds by myself many times. I took myself off Buspar in 2015. A couple months ago I went from 40 milligrams of propalanol to 20 milligrams. I didn’t mention this to my doctor though. I was worried he’d get upset. I’ve only seen him twice. I know myself well. I know what my body needs and what it doesn’t. If something is wrong I’ll go back to taking it twice a day. But I’m switching to the early morning shift and taking it in the morning and not being able to go back to sleep like I usually do will not be very good for my physical or mental health. |

I take all my Geodon at night because the morning dose was making me too tired. I'm doing this with my doctors permission. I went on the Geodon while working and having a severe depressive episode brought on by the stress from work. I have since quit working and haven't had a severe episode so with docs guidance I am titrating off the Geodon.

Geodon works better if taken twice a day.

But yeah that’s my problem. I have no idea why 60 makes me so tired but 80 doesn’t. It doesn’t seem to make sense. If I take it at like 11, I’ll sleep all afternoon and then won’t be tired at night. It’s just a viscous cycle. I’m currently Trying to get out of a similar circadian rhythm issue. I usually take my 8AM meds at 1AM-3AM. Then I take my night ones at 6:00 PM. I don’t seem to have an issue taking them that close together and going most of the day without taking any. I think I’ll be ok. |

I currently take 60mg. I take it around 8:30 since it makes me tired about an hour after taking it. Tried taking it with dinner but then I couldn't stay awake past 7 pm.

I’m kind of nervous about doing this. I’m worried 40 along with the 80 is too high to start with. I don’t have any 20’s though. I’m worried I’m going to accidentally overdose. In my state overdosing is an involuntary trip to the psych unit. Don’t know how telling them I wasn’t trying to do anything will go over. I wish I had talked to my doctor about this when I saw him last Monday.

I wouldn't do it without your doctors consent.

I didn’t do it. I was so worried I would have a reaction to mixing it together. If I had told the ER I was just confused, or if I had told them the truth and I was messing with it without my doctors permission, they would have assumed I was disoriented or a danger to myself. Then they would look at my history, and I would be in the psych unit all weekend.
The ER is a viscous place these days for people with mental illness. At least in my state. I’d rather deal with side effects until I can talk to my doctor. |

You don't have akathisia or tardive dyskinesia on that large dose?

I really don’t know what that is. My GP mentioned something about movement disorders one time but I wasn’t really paying attention. If I have it it’s not bothering me.

I had once almost gone on Geodon. From what I understand, It does not act for very long and therefore needs a divided dosage.
TD might occur at the higher dosage, but it depends on the person. I got TD from a lowish dosage of Risperdal. __________________ Tic-Tac |
