I just logged to the form because I've been trying to find a medication to work for the past two years. I got off of Zoloft and went into an emotional tailspin. Have tried many different things, but they either make me soooo sleepy or they give me a rash. I hope to find some support here. Can anyone relate to my story? Can you give me hope. I can list the meds I've tried if that would help.

Hello schwadg: Since this is your first post here on PC... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find PC to be of benefit.
Yes I can relate to your experience somewhat. I'm an older person. And perhaps that's at least part of the reason I've had the experiences I've had. But pretty-much every psych med I've been on has made me groggy. (I'm no longer on anything.) I was taken off Lexapro when I developed little red pin-pricks all over my calves. And I was taken off of Lamictal when I developed Lamictal rash. (I used to joke that I couldn't take any medication that started with the letter "L".) On the other hand, I was on the maximum dosage of Cymbalta for a couple of years, I guess it was. It was the best antidepressant, for me, I ever tried. There were few side effects. And it even helped with my chronic pain. Anyway that was my experience. __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go." A list of meds would help.

Welcome to PC! I've gotten a lot of side effects from meds too.

I did not do great on Zoloft at first and was taken off of it, but my doctor decided to revisit it and take me up very slowly. Now very helpful. A list of meds would be great! __________________ Tic-Tac |

Thanks for the replies. I'll reply with a list of meds as soon as I talk to my doctor... I can't remember them all. The ones that I remember are (spelling is off I'm sure):
Lithium Risperdal Lamictal Prosac |
