I wish I had an answer for you. I have to get which ever generic my pharmacy guys for all my scripts. Since I have no choice though I didn't notice a difference when I was in it.

Thanks. Do you mean "they all worked the same"? Which I would take as "good". I should've said "non bad".

I'm not sure that it's possible to definitively rate one manufacturer's generic over another's, since people often seem to get results/side affects that are unique to their own situation/makeup. Whilst there are certainly going to be differences between the effective manufacturing/ingredients (non-active, especially) between the patented drug & different manufacturer's generics (and arguably between different batches from the same manufacturer over time), the only thing you really have to go on, is personal experience.

FWIW, I've used generic fluoxetine from Walgreens & Walmart (Teva) & not experienced any noticeable change in experience between them.

The only difference I've discovered is cost. Some generic forms are more than others (even with insurances). For example, fluoxetine capsules are generally quite a bit more expensive than tablets. And tablets can be split to create doses- for example, if the dose is 30mg and the MD writes for a 30mg capsule, you could have them write instead for 1.5 of a 20mg tablet, which would still be less per month than the capsules.

Thanks for your response. What i'm trying to do is to tap into other's experience too, to see if there is a consensus about any.

The name brand Prozac was a "magic bullet" so to speak. The generics, not so much.
