Very concerned a friend stopped her psych. med. First stopping it and even worse doing it cold turkey. Mixed feelings she went off her med I know she was suffering from the side effects. I saw her last week. It was obvious she was wobbling as she walked a quite unsteady gait. Believe me she wasn't drinking. We were at a local restaurant She ordered soda. It wasn't rum and coke or anything alcoholic,
When she got to my place for a visit she complained of leg pain. She told her pdoc told she she at the beginning stage of Parkinson Fine tremors in her hand were definitely noticeable. She told me if the side effects worsened she'd kill herself. History of suicide attempts. Like jumping from a bridge. I can see why she'd quit her medication. But now her symptoms aren't being treated Its mainly hearing voices, imaginary enemies, depression. OTOH the drug was causing her real physical problems. OTOH she went cold turkey vs weaning herself off. Finally I'm worried her symptoms will get worse Do you think I should stay away from her for now? I can still be supportive to her over the phone? IMO She should of called her pdoc about how the med was affecting her. |
