Psychiatrist started me on Inderal 2 x 10mg (5 days so far) for anxiety (somatic), palps, hyperventilation. I am also on Lexapro 20mg for 3 weeks.

I haven't noticed any effects, at 6'2"" (190cm) and 185lbs (84kg) I am wondering if this is a small dose or it isn't having any effect yet.

Thoughts? Thanks.

Yes that is a pretty small dose.

I was on 30 mg and it was too much for me so I'm back to 20 mg. Inderal can lower blood pressure so they have to start you small, I think I started on 10 mg actually. My doctor didn't seem to want to up my dose past 30 mg even if it did agree with me. So is it a small dose? Honestly I guess it depends on the person and how much they can tolerate. Those with high blood pressure can tolerate more.

It depends what you area taking it for. For hypertension it can go all the way up to 640mg. That would be pretty dangerous of course if you didn't have really high blood pressure.

I take it for Latuda-induced akathisia. We started at about 20mg and then went up until it worked completely at 80mg. Doctors always compliment me for having such great blood pressure and I feel like I'm cheating. But that dose hasn't lowered my bp too much. If my heart is pounding and I feel shaky and as though I can't catch my breath I take an extra one and it works. My psychiatrist was pretty much "whatever".
