Hello all. I had an appointment with my psychiatrist today. I am bi-polar and anxiety. I told her that I am feeling down and have been for the past couple of months. So she walks over to her sample closet and tosses the Rexulti trial box over. As everyone probably is, I was pretty anxious about starting it. She did not discuss any of the side effects. I have been busy online looking them up. And of course the big one - weight gain, is weighing heavily on my mind. I am wondering from the group here, if anyone who has taken it, had any weight gain on it, as well as any other side effects. Besides the weight gain I am also worried about the sleepiness. I have enough of that with the other meds I am on, along with the depression cant get out of bed.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I was on Rexulti for two months, I noticed no weight gain, in fact I actually lost weight while on it. The side effects were minimal, it did make me more awake and disrupt my sleep so I took it in the morning instead of in the evening. As far as effectiveness goes I can't speak on that as I have schizoaffective disorder, depressive type. It was not effective in managing my symptoms so I switched to something else.
