So far things haven't been too bad. Mostly, as far as symptoms go, I've only had some neck and shoulder pain/tension, sensitivity to sugar, and losing my mind when I'm mid menstrual cycle haha!

I'm doing okay though for the most part. Today was rough around the middle part of the day. It didn't help that I saw my psych nurse and she gave me the whole "you could be feeling better because of the meds speech (which I took as be careful going off because the meds could be holding you together lol)."

I get that. I think she just wants to make sure I don't end up in crisis or anything (and it's her work so of course she's just making sure I'm okay). That made me a little irritated (feeling like I'd never get free of the meds), but I still want to continue this non medication therapy journey. I'm just feeling like it's time for me personally. I'll still be getting treatment, support, self care techniques, community, etc. I'm just going to try moving forward without medication therapy while utilizing other mental health options.

But anyway, today was a little rough. I felt like I was starting to lose it, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Then it hit me...I'm mid menstrual cycle lol. I get this way every time like clockwork probably because withdrawal is affecting my cycle in some way. Crisis averted lol.

I'm better now. Writing here helps. Reading about and watching other people's withdrawal journeys (and their lives after meds) helps too.

I'm glad it hasn't been too bad so far. Are you tapering off or did you quit cold turkey?

Tapering and withdrawal can become very challenging sometimes.

Which med are you tapering?

I hope the withdrawal symptoms ease up for you!

Thanks!

I quit cold turkey a few months back...BIG mistake. Now, I'm tapering...slowly. I'm even going slower than my psych nurse originally suggested.

I'm starting with just the Trazodone. I'll eventually get to the Latuda. The Latuda I'm a little more worried about.

Yes it can! I'm getting through it though. Starting with Trazodone, and then I'll eventually get to the Latuda. Thanks so much!

While it doesn't hurt to be extra careful, antipsychotics don't usually need to be tapered down. I really wouldn't worry too much about the Latuda. If you're reading somewhere about Latuda withdrawal I would take the time to check my source. There are internet horror stories about every drug.

Thanks for the suggestion. I guess that's why I don't see any information about actually tapering off Latuda besides going from pills to injections. I'm only on 40 mg now and the lowest dose I've seen is 20 mg.
