kind of. take your Klonopin dose and x 20=valium equivalent (roughly...). I think the same rule applies for xanax, too. anyway...

back in the 70s, valium doses usually went up to 40mgs/day, not too much higher, usually. a lot of that, though, was because of sedation. klonopin of course is far less sedating than valium, so...one can take more without being excessively sedated.

i took 3mgs/day klonopin for a while...not good, but a lot of that was because it made my depression worse, over time, and also i started having cognitive impairment...and then the taper was miserable. :-(

that's another thing...benzodiazepines can make depression worse or cause depression, but Klonopin is sort of notorious for making depression worse, over time.

It's a pretty big dosage but not huge. I take xanax twice a day when needed at 1 mg each.

It's a high dose, but I've been on higher. I was on 5 mg/day for years until 2013 when I went IP and they tapered me down to 3.5 mg / day. I find I'm good at that dose, although I am thinking about talking with my pdoc about tapering off it completely.

I've been taking it daily since 2007 and it's still working for me.

well I'm on a meds cocktail, seriously I'm on a lot of psych meds at high doses. But for anxiety, I find that seroquel also helps, but it's a pretty big gun to take for anxiety.

I'm feeling more foggy on it.
or "slow" lately, stupid feeling. I think the less the dose the better in the long run. I'm afraid I'm Dumber since I've been on it years.
(Although it has helped somewhat with severe anxiety, ocd)

I was on 5 mg / day until 2013, but then went IP and the psychiatrist there weaned me off a bit, down to 3.5 mg / day. I'm still on that dose and so far am happy to stay there.

No, I wasn't too sedated. I think it was his general anti-benzo attitude and belief that it couldn't be still working after all the time I'd been on it.

could you ask about xanax xr? most benzodiazpeines can cause depression and/or make depression worse. Klonopin is actually bad about that (Fun fact). xanax has been used with some success in helping elevate mood, with or without antidepressants.

the xr is supposed to reduce anxiety between doses, plus over time its supposed to help keep the dose lower. i think there's a 3mgs xr tablet. current advice with xanax is I think to stay at or under 4mgs/day, if possible. i dont know the suggestions for Klonopin.

hope this helps.
