i'm a 72 yr. old female who had/has the same concerns (most weight gain) but i exercise 5 times a week (cardio and weights) and take approx. 18mg. of seroquel; i've played around with the dose, depending on how manic my day has been, whether i've traveled (jet lag issues) or going to vegas which is way too stimulating, even for a 2-night stay there. i've never taken more than 37mg of seroquel (and with psych nurse input) have added 5mg melatonin or now, finally, 15mg temazepam plus 18mg seroquel works great. never got the binges to eat and don't mind the morning hangover which goes away after my 2nd cup of coffee (i'm retired so not on any schedule)...bottom line for me, i love seroquel.

That's a really low dose. I'm on 800 mg/day and haven't gained any weight on it. In fact, I'm currently losing, but I'm on a really strict diet of 1200 calories / day.

But everyone responds differently to different meds.

Can seroquel 6 mg cause weight gain?

Wow. I'm surprised Seroquel does anything at all for you at that dose. Anyway when I was on a high dose of Seroquel (using it as my antipsychotic) I did have all those icky side effects. Now that I take just 50mg for sleep it doesn't affect me in any way except helping with sleep, and the occasional hangover.
