Hey, like in the title. I suffer from panic attacks and extreme agoraphobia. Spent my 20's practically homebounded. I had severe side effects after meds before, so previous psychiatrist decided to treat me with psychotherapy only. But I still after so many years didn't get better at all. had to change the doctor last month because couldn't afford previous one. New one said I have to have meds when my panic is so severe and prescribed me Xanax 0,5mg twice a day and trittico. Since I'm scared of any medication which works on brain I decided to try Xanax first. Started taking this 2 days ago, had weird feeling of squeezing in head, dizziness and extreme sleepiness. It didn't calm me at all, only made me sleep for most of a day. But today, before taking morning pill, I started to have a problem with seeing, got scared when I couldn't see letters, couldn't name letters, and it got worse and worse to the point I was almost blind.. saw shapes-like abd pale colors only, for over an hour. I heard Xanax may cause blurred vision, but what happened to me in this 'blind phase' was more like when you look way too long at the sun, everything was kind of white-ish, invisible, it's very hard to describe..
So my question is, does it ever happened to anyone else? Is it normal or should I be worried? I'm underweight so could it be too strong for my body and cause this?
Sorry for a long post

I've never taken xanax, I take klonopin for anxiety but that sounds scary. I'd definitely talk to your doctor soon

I called doctor and he only said that 'too big dose then, take half of a pill twice a day not whole' and that's all:/

Wow - that sounds scary. I hope the lower dose helps you without the nasty side effect.
