Tomorrow, at 10:40 A.M (EST) I have an appointment to see a new psychiatrist. My last appointment with a new psychiatrist was around 2, 3 years ago. I do not remember much of it, therefore, it cannot help me in this new situation. I see an elderly man who frightens me. New situations, new people create enough fear in me, but it adds to the fact he is an elderly man. I am scared ****less for this appointment. Does anyone have any advice to get through it/bring up what I need?

Personally I'm always terrified to see a new therapist because you don't know what to expect and you are in a position where you are extremely vulnerable. Do you have the option of changing if you don't like him/her? If you do maybe it might help to bear that in mind.

Thank you, I'll keep it in mind.
