I have never tried it, Fairy102. Just remember that different meds have different effects for different people. For more information about it, I'd suggest to talk to your Pdoc about this. Sending many hugs to you

I take it and have been on it for 2 years. The biggest mistake people make is thinking it will work quickly or that it will reduce panic attacks. I thought it wasnt working when I first tried it and then one day about 6 weeks in I woke up and realized I no longer felt that constant low level underlying anxiety that I always did. It has helped me to deal with stressful situations easier than before. If you have panic attacks a benzo could help in an acute situation.

The first day I took it I woke up in the middle of the night in a complete panic. Tried one more day, then gave up. Maybe I should have given it more time, but I was afraid of a repeat nightmare.

It caused me to eat 800 calories per meal, and per snack. I got off it, and lost a ton of weight. I have never heard of this happening with anyone else though. My doctor was very confused even though he knew it was the Buspar.

I really love Buspar it works great for me; I hardly have an anxiety becasue of it and I haven't had a panic attack since being moved to three times a day. I am on 30mg overall and I have noticed a big difference and it really does help me. It gives me a level of calmness I never knew I had. I also noticed on day I totally forgot to take two dosages of it; I could feel the anxiety coming back.

I started it just 4 days ago, changing to it from Prozac. I'd suspected I was feeling some depression on the Prozac, and I think I feel less depression on the Buspar. I left my apartment twice today, because I just felt like getting out and getting some fresh air and sunshine. On Prozac I had gotten to the point where I hardly ever went anywhere.

Only 4 days, but I notice that difference, and also I feel a little more clear-headed, although I didn't feel "foggy" on Prozac. Just sort of "meh."

I tried it for one month and now I am back on Prozac, which I was taking before I tried buspirone.

Buspar helped with anxiety but not with stress -- on it, I found myself getting stressed more easily than while on Prozac. Buspar let me handle scary situations like going out alone, running errands alone, but it did not calm me. I was easily stressed, easily irritated by stress-inducing influences. Buspar kept me alert, but it did not take off the "edge."

Started the Buspar in place of Cymbalta this past Thursday and so far so good... a few small expected side effects but nothing in comparison to others of the past.

So now added 60mg of Buspar to my 450mg xl Welbutrin... and I am VERY hopeful and feeling like this was hte right direction for me to go in. Only time will tell of course I will try to update again in a few weeks.

I am sure my Husband is happy as the Cymbalta killed my interest in sex... the Buspar or the combination of Buspar & Welbutrin has restored my sex drive! So one problem solved! lol (Well ya gotta start somewhere....Buspar)
