I started taking Vyvanse last year in October for BED. Started on 30mg. Then went up to 50 mg in Dec. The side effects are horrid gut pains, irritability, increased anxiety and increased tics (Already had them they are just worse).

I have dropped the dose back to 30mg yesterday at my pdocs suggestion.

Any ideas as to how long I should stay on 30mg as my p'doc has no idea and hasn't had much experience with this medication?

Any suggestions folks?

hi. amphetamine tapers can be quick or slow, depending on your preferences. id try to go fast, given the adverse effects. do you have extra benzodiazepines? Its...odd, I guess; some of the dysphoria and such from stimulant tapers can be dealt with using benzodiazepines. i guess gabapentin might work (?), but...yeah. sedatives. id personally avoid increasing any neuroleptic/antipsychotic dosage right now, because that might make the dysphoria and blah feeling worse ((personal opinion, your mileage will vary)).

sorry about this. :-(

Thanks for the feedback still_crazy. I will see what happens, if any-thing, with the drop down to 30 for a couple of weeks then maybe nothing. I know I haven't been on it for a very long time. Hoping there wont be too much of a kick back. I do have extra benzo's.

It has been a week since I came off Vyvanse cold turkey. My moods have been very low and I have been so tired. Eating way too much.
