Before I moved out of my parents', I used to always take my meds and many needed supplements on time and consistently for over 5 years. However, when I moved into the dorms that literally took a complete nose dive. Now, my med and vitamin intake is ridiculously sporadic which is not benefiting me in any way. I have tried all the usual tricks and stuff to try and get myself to be consistently taking them, but nothing has worked and it's been progressively getting worse for a few years now. lol.

So, I would love to hear your advice or tricks to get yourself consistent with your meds!

I would associate taking your medication with another task. When you brush your teeth in the morning everyday, take your medication at the same time. This is what has worked for me. Also, you could make taking your medications part of your breakfast routine. You could do something similar at night. Great luck to you for being proactive about your health!

I find taking my meds with meals works for me, as I now associate my meds with eating. I have to take meds 4 times a day, so breakfast, lunch, supper and bed time, works really well for me.

Another trick that I know a lot of people use is to put alarms on their phones, to go off when it's time to take meds.

Good luck with figuring out a system that works for you.

Any good advice or ways to fix this issue?

That used to be what worked for me, conflict free. But, honestly I just think I need to organize out my day and such since I am realizing as I am typing this that it's the lack of routine that is probably really throwing me for a loop.

Routine is pretty crucial for my med-taking reliability, too. I imagine that living in a dorm does make such routines a little tougher than for people who live at home and can establish daily routines (and have some privacy about when/where you take pills).

Though I don't use it, many I know set alarms on their cell phones. Since many people have their phones on them almost all of the time, this is definitely a good option for many. If one still tends to miss an alarm, a second alarm "Did you remember your meds at 8 am" could be set at 9 am.

Another idea is to take your meds the moment you can get your feet over the side of the bed. I used to take a medication right from my bed. I always had a glass of water on my bed stand and the pill box right next to it. If you share a room and are reluctant to leave a pill box out [By the way, use pill boxes unless you only take a couple pills max.] you can buy a pretty box and put your pill box in the box. Another good idea if you fear someone may steal some pills (like a benzo), definitely use Monday-Sunday pill boxes and then lock up the pill bottles. I think people would be far less likely to steal a pill from a Monday-Sunday pill box than from a pill bottle. It's easier to figure out that a pill is missing.
