Hi all,
I could use some insight from you. I'm currently taking prozac, wellbutrin, and my pdoc just started rexulti because while motivation has increased depression symptoms are not where I'd like them to be (still waking every night, body feels is slow, mind is not sharp, and motivation is better but not normal).

My question is the same thing I asked my pdoc. Am I taking too much of the same kind of med? Today I've been tired, forgetful, zero emotion, head fog, and zero motivation. I realize it's day one, but any thoughts would be helpful.

Many thanks.

hi. im not trying to question your psychiatrist, but...

using -any- antipsychotic, no matter how 'atypical,' when someone lacks motivation, is lethargic, feels emotionally numb, and has cognitive issues strikes me as a bit...counter-productive. these drugs are being pushed -hard- as safe, non-addictive add ons, etc., but...if my main problem was that sort of depression, id personally steer clear of antipsychotics and most ssri drugs (prozac can be less apathy-inducing than some others).

i'm currently taking 225 mg of effexor and 450 mg of wellbutrin and mostly feel good. not great just good. motivation to go to work 5x a week but not much else on those days. anyways i had been on 300 mg of wellbutrin and the 225 of effexor but was sliding down hill so my Nurse Practitioner suggested i try rexulti, it helped a lot. but it also boosted my appetite and was horribly expensive. after a couple of months and 20 lbs i told her i couldnt stay on it so we bumped up the wellbutrin. I really dont like being on such a high dose of wellbutrin since my boss started having seizures at 300 mg a few summers ago and had to be taken off.
Im afraid to switch to something else. Has anyone gone back to a drug that worked for them for like 20 years then stopped working? It (paxil) was the one drug that worked the best for me, while it worked that is.
