I've been on Effexor since 1998. It blasted me out of a really deep depression, so was great that way.

I'm not really sure how it makes me feel now - my body / brain are just so used to it.

When I first went on it, I experienced dizziness, headaches, and nausea, but those are all long gone.

I didn't lose weight on it, but also didn't gain any, which was a relief.

Good luck with it.

I used to take it. It helped me for a while. I never lost weight on it but when I was taking it I was also taking other meds that caused weight gain. I hope it works for you.

I've been on it for a few years. I don't remember gaining any weight from it though. It worked, but it killed my sex drive.

I was prescribed Effexor during a stay on the psychiatric ward and continued to take it for some time afterwards. I found it did not help with chronic depression. All anti-depressants are uniquely effective in any one case.
