I bought these Sakura Sake Kit Kats online. Mind you I didn’t need any form of identification to buy them. I found out they have 0.07% alcohol in them and are not suitable for children or people who have a low tolerance to alcohol.

I’m on Xanax which I’ve been told absolutely no alcohol, and several other meds including Geodon and lamictal. Is 0.07 enough to kill me? Or have a reaction to? Because I really want to eat these. Also why the **** is this company not asking for ID in order to buy these? Or why are they even putting them in the box at all? They came in a Japanese subscription box.

That should not be an amount of alcohol to worry about. If you feel uncomfortable check with your pharmacist

Thanks. I had my mom try one and she was really surprised because she said there was a strong alcohol taste to them. I guess if I eat one hours apart from the Xanax I should be ok.

That's a really low amount of alcohol, so you should be ok, but I agree it's an odd thing to be sending out.

I'd only say absolutely no, if you were taking Antabuse, since that might be enough to trigger an Antabuse reaction which you really don't want.

Alcohol content in chocolate?

In regular chocolate you shouldn’t have to worry. Sugar free chocolate DOES have sugar alcohol in it though(usually) by the way. Not enough to do anything, so it’s benign. Avoid eating a lot at one time as it can cause numbing of the legs due to extended time spent on the toilet lol.

I agree with the comment that it would only really be a big deal if you were on antibuse.
If you ate an entire box and you have no alcohol tolerance then you might feel a little bit tingly or something.
But (and I shouldn't endorse this), a small bit of alcohol with Xanax isn't going to kill you. It's not a good idea largely because they can compound each other's effects like sedation and cognitive effects to the point that it's dangerous. Unless you had some underlying health issue, a small amount of alcohol isn't particularly dangerous. They just don't want you going out and having several drinks or more.

As for sugar alcohols, those are completely different. The kind of alcohol that gets you drunk and that is referred to on the label is ethanol, aka ethyl alcohol, two carbons (and 5 hydrogens) and an -OH
"Alcohol" just refers to the fact that it has an -OH. So a lot of different molecules can be called alcohols, but they're totally different. Those are not included in calculating the 0.07%, that's just ethanol

I had one of the chocolates today and it was gross but I was fine. I’ve had a lot of sugar alcohol in one sitting (Halo Top) and I’ve been fine.

I mean, my anxiety did go sky high half an hour after eating one of those chocolates. Don’t know if it’s related or not.

Sugar alcohols are not "alcohol"
the two are completely unrelated.

Sugar alcohols are non-nutritive, meaning that they are not absorbed in the gut and are passed in your excrement. A few laxatives (such as sucralose) are actually sugar alcohols that lubricate the colon.
