Hi,

I was put on Risperdal for a while and, I felt it made me ' hormonal ', I began thinking like a pregnant woman . . I also considered Sex with some of my male friends, it was a bit odd . . I don't normally think like that . . It lasted as long as I got Risperdal then, I was put on another drug and, it disappeared . .

I was thinking, has any-one else had this happen to them, I feel some-what alone and, my Doctors say it's not from the drugs, not medicine . .

Two of my friends began wearing Female clothing, on Risperdal . . When they talked about it, the Doctor put them on other drugs and, it also stopped . .

Is there a connection with the drugs, I've found a book, called 'Oxford Textbook of Endocrinology', which says Prolactin ' induces the Maternal instinct ' . . Other articles say it affect MOOD, EMOTIONS And, BEHAVIOUR . .

Has any-one else had this, I don't mind having gay emotions and, feelings . . but, it was very new, for me . . .

Risperidone didn't cause me to have maternal feelings, or any changes in my sex drive. It just made me start lactating.

But I've found that People's reactions to meds is highly individual and there can often be strange side effects that aren't that common.

And psychiatrists always seem to downplay side effects.
