I'm not sure, I'd say I gained maybe 20lbs on it, it's hard to say for sure though because I was on other meds as well

I was actually prescribed Depakote for severe migraine headaches (this was back before there were so many treatments for migraines); secondarily, as a mood stabilizer.
The Dep. was helpful as far as a reduction in headaches and did cause my moods to be more stable. I did, however, gain around 35lbs. on it. But I gain weight on every single psych med I've ever been on (except benzos). I started out too thin, and it seems the meds cause my body to overcompensate. I cannot recall my dose, but I know it was a standard one. __________________ |

Has your doctor been talking about trying depakote? It is generally for bipolar disorder. Your doctor hasn't diagnosed you with bipolar disorder from what I understand.

My hands got really shaky when I was on it. I'm not a fan of it either.

I was on it for one night. I developed tachycardia and my doctor pulled me off right away. My heart was beating so fast I thought I was having a heart attack.
