Ive been taking lexapro 20mg for 8 months and last week i went through intense periods of agitation restlessness and irritation for 3 days, so i stopped taking lexapro on the 4th day. My anxiety (for which i take this med) has improved a lot, really a lot, so i believed this new change to be a result of serotonin syndrome. And these unwanted symptoms did start to subside immediately after i stopped taking it. But i now feel like my anxiety maybe starting to get a little worse. Im gonna ask my doc to put me on 10 mg if possible. Has anyone experienced something like this? Did the change /lowered dosage help? I donot take any other med except lexapro.

I think it could definitely be dose related. Did you immediately contact your doc when these things happened? Seratonin syndrome can be life threatening.
