Hi everybody,

I just want to know if anyone else has had this experience, and/or has any advice. I'm on 150mg of Effexor daily, and I continuously sleep. I'm currently back in bed after sleeping seven hours last night, and will probably sleep another three.

I've been on Effexor for over a year now and the fatigue has been pretty consistent, but before my psych had prescribed me adderall to combat it. He's left my office, and I wanted to stop taking it anyway because I had awful depressive crashes mid-day with it. So now I sleep continuously. If I'm not actively engaged or entertained I'm ready for a nap. I am a lazy person but this is crazy even for me. I'm extremely reluctant to get off Effexor though, it has been an absolute miracle for my anxiety and depression. I'm feeling the best I ever have emotionally.

Any suggestions???

I had the same problem. I took Effexor for depression (not bipolar). I got off of it and was much better. Nothing really helped combat the fatigue.

Although I dont know for sure if the fatigue was caused by Effexor or not.

I wish I had advice for you. I am just about to post a similar question about a different med

I really feel for you...the relentless fatigue doesn't feel like much of a life.

I experienced that with certain SSRIs, but I don't remember having that issue with Effexor and I was on it for a few years to to 300mg/day.

I took Effexor several years ago for quite awhile and it didn't make me tired. Have you tried Wellbutrin? A lot of people feel energized by it. I have to work part time and do things around the house and couldn't handle it if I was sleeping a lot during the day!
