Has anyone been prescribed this?
What dosage and in what circumstances?
How quickly does it work?
What are your thoughts e.g. is it effective, too sedating, too slow acting...?

I take it every now and again as a sleep aid, but at dosages of 25mg or even half a tablet. I am wondering if I could take it in a similar manner to how I'd use a Benzo during a panic attack?

Yes. Mine was for 200 mg. It was ostensibly to help with anxiety. In me, it took about twenty minutes or so before it started to kick in. I would say it was somewhat successful. Klonopin and propranolol both worked better in me, FWIW. It was extremely sedating initially, but that went away over time and ultimately became a non-issue. I do wish it worked faster. We stopped it, but that was for a different reason (metabolic).

Yes, I know it can put on weight. I took 12.5mg last night to sleep and it really knocked me out!

Did you take it every day, or during a panic attack?

I have been on it properly, as an anti-psychotic, but I think my dosage then was 600mg and it certainly was not that sedating!

I only ever use it for sleep now, but have used it in the past as a PRN for anxiety. Even at 25mg, I found it incredibly sedating to the point that I couldn't function during the day after taking it, if I had to. But I also never took it consistently, so I can't say if it would get better i.e my body got used to it but still got benefit from it.

I am not sure if I could use it prn in the middle of the day for anxiety. As you say, it is extremely sedating at low doses!

I use it prn for sleep (12.5mg). I'm thinking that using it during the day would be extremely sedating.

I also take 12.5mg for sleep and find it pretty sedating!

My PRN prescription for Seroquel what is for anxiety and for sleep. I found out it was too sedating during the day though so it never really worked out as an anti-anxiety medication like Clonazepam/Ativan etc.

I take it regularly at night however if I am hypomanic I take it prn. For me it takes about half an hour to kick in. This afternoon I took 25 mg. And no, it doesn't sedate me just takes away the unpleasantness of the hypomania.
