I currently take Lamotrigine and Klonopin for my bipolar 2 and anxiety. I was taking Effexor for quite awhile but had to get off that. It was a horrible med. I didn't actually realize how bad it was until getting off it and seeing how much better I felt. I haven't taken any antidepressant since August, but since the onset of winter and being shut in I am struggling with a mix of sad and angry that is not good. My Psychiatrist has wanted to put me on another antidepressant, but since I have tried just about every one over the years I am very hesitant. Is anyone on a Lamotrigine combo that is working well for them? I take 400mg a day of Lamotrigine and the smallest dose of Klonopin once a day. My thinking is that I need something to get me to sleep better and that will help tremendously but of course that is not what my doc wants. Do i take the plunge and just try whatever it is or look for a new doc that will work with me? Thanks so much! Don

mirtazapine is an antidepressant notable for inducing sleep but increases appetite
any of the following for sleep long term are fine
melatonin, dephenhydramine, magnesium citrate, acetaminophen
