Hello all,
Want to know how helpful have other people found non-stimulant ADD/ADHD medications? My doctor has put me on Straterra, as my last run on Ritalin triggered an episode , so this will hopefully work out better. I haven't tried it before, so fingers crossed! I am a college student and struggle tremendously with concentration. It has been difficult trying to manage symptoms (bipolar I) and then actually focusing when I am relatively symptom-free. __________________ Tic-Tac |

Hey @TicTacGo what other stimulants have you tried?
Straterra was originally studied to be used as an antidepressant. The company Lily (or something like that) somehow figured out its impact on adhd and decided to market it for that condition. For that reason it acts and works similar to an antidepressant at least in its mechanism of action. I am bipolar II and had horrible reactions to ritalin, concerta and all methylphenidates. it turns out that amphetamines are best for me so I take adderall. Have you ever tried amphetamines? __________________ "I carried a watermelon?" President of the no F's given society. |
