Has anyone been successful coming off all their meds and starting from scratch? I am thinking about asking my pdoc but I am afraid he is going to say I have to be in the hospital to do it.

Sure. I did it in 2012. Had a massive recurrence and then started everything over again. It set me back several months, for sure, and was scary and painful. I will certainly never do that again, that is for sure.

I have done it numerous times.. its not a walk in the park but with careful planning by reducing one med at a time and factoring in the half life and then the time needed for your brain to function sans meds.. it can take months to decrease them..

What will you do while tapering meds to keep yourself safe?

I have tried it before. I think it does take planning. I am currently in the process of reducing meds with my doctor's support. It takes time and courage to do, I think. And if you're not able to reduce or if a change doesn't go well, just make sure to not beat yourself up for it. That would be my advice.

I've done it a couple times. I was prepared to have withdrawals and life being less than optimal but I was able to start over on less meds. I'm only on 3 meds for for psych reasons. More for non psych reasons but I believe strongly in giving the body breaks. You just have to tolerate unpleasant feelings and have a good T to talk with and monitor you..
