I was just prescribed adderall for ADHD, and picked up my pills this evening. I'm going to test it out for the first time tomorrow and see how it goes. I'm nervous...but I'm also excited about the possibility of actually being able to be focused and productive, you know, like a typical person. What have your experiences with it been?

Adderall has saved my life. I take the xr version and have been on it for 14 years. I am an absolute hazard driving without it.

What's the dose? Short or long acting?
I was on it for many years. It works, but just be aware, there have been some instances of folks developing addiction issues with it or problems taking it as prescribed. So, if you have a tendency for any of that stuff, just be cautious. __________________ When I was a kid, my parents moved a lot, but I always found them--Rodney Dangerfield |

I do know about it being something that some people find addictive, and my psych and I talked about that. Fortunately, I don’t have any addictive tendencies, and always take my meds exactly as prescribed. |

Well, today was day 1. And it was great! I felt so much calmer and quieter. I was able to focus. I had energy because my brain didn't have seven things buzzing around it every single second and wasn't trying to focus on all of them all at once. I did pretty much lose my appetite, which isn't a total surprise, but if that's the worst that happens, I'm fine with it.

Day 2: Felt a little nauseous. Was able to sit and watch something for over a half hour and actually pay attention to it. Was tired, but I woke up early after going to bed a little on the late side, so I'm sure that's what the problem was. Still good.

Yeah, you may have to play with the timing until you get it just right. It def impaired my appetite quite a bit.

Yeah, I ate very little today. I found that even if I’m really hungry, I can only eat small amounts at one time. But I’ll certainly do my best to keep eating.
