I am currently taking fluoxetine, propranolol and pregabalin. I suffer with treatment resistant depression, anxiety and ocd. Any success stories to keep me going?
Coming off risperidone has made my mood plummet and I'm doubting everything. |

I have bipolar disorder 1. Severe anxiety has been a problem for me almost all of my life. Despite trying many, many meds nothing worked to alleviate my anxiety. I have not been on pregabaline, but I have taken Gabapentin. As I understand it the two medications are similar.
Gabapentin didn't do anything beneficial for me. I was on it for some months, but finally decided to stop taking it. The extreme anxiety continued. Then my pdoc recalled an older AP that is used to treat anxiety. It's called Trilafon (perphenazine). It is the best med for anxiety (by far) that I've ever taken. I assume that because it's an older medication, it's not prescribed much. But that's too bad, because I find it incredibly helpful and I've met some others on PC who do, too. __________________ |

I was on so many other meds at the time that I didn't really notice if pregabalin helped for anxiety. I don't think it did.
The only thing that made a significant dent on my anxiety was the benzos and therapy, honestly. Pregabalin also made me extremely sensitive to the sun, which was really bad. Sorry if I don't really have a success story here. Why did you come off of risperidone? Just wondering. __________________ "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Sorry to hear that. Are there other medicines your doctor has suggested that can help with anxiety / your feeling of your mood plummeting? I.e., something to replace the risperidone, if your mood has plummeted after stopping it. __________________ "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
