I have started taking Zoloft 50 mg two weeks ago. I started taking 25 mg for the first week and now i'm taking 50 mg. I'm kinda worried because I don't see changes yet, I have noticed a bit of less anxiety when I wake up because i'm taking Zoloft at night. I have had almost two panic attacks on the first week of taking Zoloft coming out of the store and getting into the car which I think it's more related to my anxiety caused by stress. i haven't gone to a store in a week because i'm afraid of getting a panic attack since i'm feeling vulnerable. I have a similar episode in 2015 where I didn't want to go out and was put on Prozac, which it help a lot until it stopped working on February of this year and my psych switched me to Venlafaxine which I didn't wanted it to take it from the beginning. Sorry for the long rant. How long does it take Zoloft to work for anxiety/ Panic?

My experience with Zoloft was that with 4 days I experienced a lessening of symptoms. In fact, for a few days I felt really great! After that things settled into just feeling better than I had without Zoloft.

However, I cannot recall what the optimal dose of Zoloft is. Is there room for you to increase the dose?

My doctor has increased my dose to 75mg now about two weeks ago. I feel some days low because I have a fear of going to the store.

I have heard sometimes antidepressants can take 4-6 weeks to get the full effect. Also keep in mind this varies person to person and everyone's experiences will slightly differ. I see it's been about a month since you originally posted. Are you feeling any better now? I hope it works for you. Hang in there!

Yes. I have been taking it for 6 weeks now.
I have called my doctor this morning and my Zoloft dose has been increased to 100mg. He says it may take 3 weeks to work. I have seen my anxiety lessened, but not entirely. I’m nervous about going to the stores.
